For the past 6 weeks the topics the pupils have been learning about are, 'Let's Get Cooking', 'Spring' and 'Easter'. Every Friday the pupils look forward to their weekly cookery lesson; they develop their functional life skills as well as make some tasty buns! In the structured play area, a kitchen and restaurant were set up, the staff got to relax while the pupils were busy preparing our breakfast!
In Maths we have been focusing on the concept of money. Each pupil works at their own level whether it be matching, sorting and identifying coins, ordering coins and notes in terms of monetary value, reading prices or working out change from £1.
In Literacy pupils continue to read individual reading books from the Oxford Reading Tree scheme, learning CVC or High frequency words through word of the week board and completing spelling using the Communication in Print software programme.
In Horticulture pupils have been preparing their playground for outdoor play now that the weather is improving. They have been weeding, tidying, painting and planting. We will have a mud kitchen ready to use after the Easter break!
We have had a busy few weeks taking part in World Book Day, Literacy week, St. Patrick's Hooley and Easter fun activities.
Enjoy looking through our photos and also have a look at the other subject updates as we feature in them too!
