Class 7 is a group of two girls and six boys. Mrs Donnelly is the class teacher, and our assistants are Kimberly and Joyce. The boys and girls in Class 7 continue to work hard and play hard. We have had a big focus on the area of increased independence, and as the children get older, we strive to support and assist them in developing skills for life. We have some great dishwashers in our class, some pupils who help to serve the school lunches, even a recycling officer!!

The children have enjoyed experiencing using and handling real money in Numeracy and this has lent itself very well to the area of ‘life skills’.

We had a good run of swimming at the Orchard Leisure Centre recently and the children’s increased confidence and enjoyment of the water has been clear to see. The improving weather has allowed us to be outdoors a lot more. There has been lots of planting and exploring going on as we have discovered all the signs of Spring in our environment.

We have been very excited to celebrate special events recently such as ‘Easter’ and ‘Eid’ and the children have found it fascinating to learn all about the variety of cultures and traditions we have in Lisanally.

We now look forward to all the fun of the Summer Term. May the sun shine down upon us!!! Class 7.

The pupils in class 7 have made a great start to the school year and have been working hard since their return to school in September. They have settled in well and are now familiar with our weekly and daily schedule.

To date, we have been focussing on the themes of ‘Nature Adventures/Eco Home’. The children have been learning all about different types of houses and homes in other parts of the world and in different climates.

They have completed some fantastic work on the theme of ‘looking after our environment’ and know all about how we’ Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’.

The boys and girls have enjoyed lots of nice activities, with ‘Relax Kids’ being a firm favourite in Class 7. We look forward to our weekly trip to the Library where the children have the freedom to enjoy the books in whatever way they choose. The children have produced some lovely work for the forthcoming Credit Union Art Competition, so fingers crossed that we may have a few winners!

At the moment we are focussing on the area of Autumn and change. We continue to observe our natural environment and discuss all the things that tell us that this season has arrived.

The children have also been learning about how we manage our emotions through the use of social stories and other strategies. Our Class Charter for the year reads

“Every child is a different kind of flower, and all together we make this world beautiful”

This reflects the ethos in Class 7 of celebrating difference and looking out for our friends.

We look forward to a year of hard work, laughter, and learning.
