We have been very busy over the last few months taking part in some exciting activities. We had Mary from Relax Kids whose sessions we all love as they are all about promoting our wellbeing and getting us to think about and understand our feelings through fun activities.
We went to the swimming pool at the leisure centre for a four-week block and it was lovely to see how the children’s confidence in the water increased each week.
We also had Andy from IFA and we played games which helped us improve our football skills, as well as our listening skills!
We all took part in a Eureka Science workshop. We got to do some experiments ourselves mixing acids and alkalis. It was great fun!
Towards the end of last term, we had an Easter Play Day and the variety of activities on offer for us in the hall was brilliant!
We had snack time at our school café for a few weeks, especially on World Book Day when we dressed up as our favourite book character. The café had an ‘afternoon tea’ theme based on The Tiger Who Came To Tea. We all enjoyed a little sweet treat!
In addition to all of this, we are working hard in class. Our topic of the Rainforest allowed us to explore the various species of animals who live in the rainforests around the world. In Maths we have been getting to know our notes and coins and we are now learning how to tell the time. We continue to work daily on our writing and pre-reading skills and enjoy weekly visits to our school library. In art, we made Beautiful Easter bonnets and are always working on competition entries to show off our artistic talents! We always make some tasty treats in cookery including toasted sandwiches, French toast and ritzy rolo cookies. Yummy!! Some of our pupils have been involved in representing the school as members of the Junior Choir at the local Music Festivals. We sounded fab!
