In Home Economics, pupils have the opportunity to make ham and cheese toasties for break by buttering their bread and cutting up ham and cheese.
We have been busy during Mobile Deli, making a creamy tomato pasta for staff. Pupils enjoy cutting up peppers, onions and tomatoes and help portion out and deliver customers orders to their classroom.
As members of the Eco School council, pupils are helping clean and tidy the Sensory Garden. Pupils have been taking part in a weekly Brighter Beginnings Programme, where they have been participating in circuit activities, group games and tag rugby.
Pupils have been working hard in the Café by carrying out different jobs and welcoming customers from other classes. We collect, make and serve pupils and staff their orders and then clear tables afterwards.
We meet up with friends from VTU 1 to attend the gym at the local Orchard Leisure Centre. We all enjoy exercising and trying out new equipment and machines.
VTU 2 consists of 9 pupils and 4 staff. The teacher is Mr Oldham, and classroom assistants are Shauna, Amy and Thomas.
We have settled in well to our new school routine and are really enjoying a busy timetable. On Mondays we work in the Mobile Deli making lunches for school staff and then we relax in the afternoon as we have Yoga with Barry. On Tuesdays we work on our John Muir and Duke of Edinburgh awards. Then we have senior music and choir in the hall. On Wednesdays we walk to Home Bargains to get our shopping for Lisanally Café and we then participate in a weekly Brighter Beginnings P.E. session in the afternoon. On Thursdays we work in the Café, preparing and serving break for classes in school. On Fridays we will be going to the Orchard Leisure Centre as part of our Health Education and Wellbeing programme. We also are busy working on making products for our Christmas Craft Fayre in school for Young Enterprise. On a Friday afternoon we complete our diary work and some pupils attend a weekly drumming session.
